About Project

FindMyFlat helps people explore property listings and roommate requirements without switching between separate discovery tools. Its homepage leads into dedicated property search and flatmate experiences, with filters for location, budget, property type, furnishing, and tenant preferences.

Signed-in users can save posts, publish requirements, set up matching alerts, and continue conversations through private messaging. The application combines server-rendered pages with indexed search, while keeping account data and user-owned records behind authenticated access.

Dedicated discovery pages share a consistent interface while exposing the filters relevant to each task, including property preferences, room sharing, and flatmate requirements.

Solution

Algolia powers indexed text search, facets, filters, result counts, and pagination. Users can narrow the search by location, budget, and other preferences without loading the entire collection into the browser.

Saving a shortlist and following up should remain connected to the search.

PocketBase-backed accounts connect favourites, matching alerts, notifications, and private messaging, with ownership checks on account-specific data and actions.
